The ancient city, located approximately 6 kilometers from the city center of Gazima\u011fusa, is among the oldest historical structures in the region. The building, which was built as a cathedral during the Byzantine rule in Cyprus, was later converted into a mosque when the Ottomans established their rule in the region.
