Ancient City of Salamis

The ancient city, located approximately 6 kilometers from the city center of Gazimağusa, is among the oldest historical structures in the region. You can reach the region by following the coastal road north with your private vehicle, and you can also go to the Yeni Boğaziçi minibus.

Salamis, where the first settlements in the district were made, is located near the point where the waters of the Troodos Mountains in the region flow into the sea. According to archaeological studies carried out in the ancient city, the city is thought to be approximately 2000 years old and has survived to the present day with a theatre, mass graves, a basilica, monuments and city walls.

Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque

The mosque, located in the center of Gazimağusa, is among the oldest structures in the region. The structure, which can be reached by foot, has been used by many different civilizations in different periods.

The building, which was built as a cathedral during the Byzantine rule in Cyprus, was later converted into a mosque when the Ottomans established their rule in the region. After being converted into a mosque, the mosque, which took the name Lala Mustafa Pasha, is still among the most interesting structures of the region with its appearance and magnificence.
